Theoretical foundations for research in educational communications and technology.

I created this image using popplet. I have never heard of this before, but it was really fun. This might be a little nerdy and probably displays the sad state of fun that I have in my life. I liked learning something new and it's a great tool for visually displaying ideas and summaries. I didn't think the chapter on theoretical foundations was very helpful and the author states in the conclusion that very little detail was provided, but learning this new tool made the activity very valuable. I did have a problem exporting the image that I created into a pdf or jpeg on my mac. I was able to save it on my windows desktop though.

Personal Goals: Knowing, making, and playing

At the beginning of the semester I set the following 3 personal technology goals for myself. 1. Use my watch at least 5 times a week to monitor my workouts. 2. Learn and use Photoshop to edit an online photo album. 3. Create an online photo album. How did I plan to achieve these goals? First, I defined the goal and emailed it to the professor of the course. Then I thought about what specifically this would mean and how I would accomplish these goals. I chose the fitness tracker because I was in the habit of not wearing it while I worked out. I am pretty good about being consistent with my exercise, but less consistent with tracking my efforts. I decided to be more conscious of wearing my iwatch while I worked out.
